Seven Seeds Cafe
As part of the Age Good Food Month, Seven Seeds has taken an initiative to present a selection of dishes and drinks inspired by countries they regularly visit to source and select coffee. Upon discovering this, I set upon Seven Seeds to taste both classic and limited dishes the cafe has to offer.
Pickled Heirloom Carrot Toast ($22)
Poached eggs, salmon, smashed avocado, seasoned lemon ricotta & chilli dukkah
The pickled heirloom carrot toast was a flavoursome and healthy dish which ranked highi in the taste department. I ordered salmon and an poached egg on the side accompany the dish and they were both quite good.
the carrot toast alongside the ricotta, smashed avocado and vegetables was a beautiful combination of flavours, the ricotta was definitely the standout, without it, it would've tasted bland.
A perfect choice if you're looking for something both healthy and delicious

Columbian Style Eggs Benedict ($25) (inc drink)
Sonidol arepa filled with fresco (mild & milky) cheese w/ poached eggs, Saffron Hollandaise, grilled morcilla and a sherry onion salad
Columbian was the chosen country for the Age Good Food Month event at Sevens Seed. Introducing the Columbian inspired set, it was $25 for both a dish and a drink.
Safe to say, the dish was pretty good. The morcilla, also known as blood pudding was an interesting ingredient for an eggs benedict. Combined with the saffron hollandaise and poached egg, it was simply delicious.
The sherry onion salad was quite disappointing and didn't work well with the star of the dish. I felt that there could've been an better alternative to accompany it.

Iced Mocha ($6.5)

Colombia Ignacio Quintero X Aguapanela

Colombia Ignacio Quintero X Aguapanela
A traditional Columbian beverage served w/ cold brew pearls and a hint of lime.
The iced mocha was accompanied with a scoop of chocolate ice cream which was a splendid surprise. The taste was a bit disappointing with the flavour more on the bland side.

The Colombian inspired drink was probably the most interesting drink I have ever tasted. Definitely a one-of-a-kind, but i didn't favour it. I was expecting something sweet from the looks, but it was different. Difficult to describe the taste it simply wasn't my cup of tea.
